Meet Your Hosts

Alison Schofield, Master of Teaching BEd, B.A. Psychology, Developmental Services (Diploma) & Francesca McGeary, M.A. (Hons), Dip. T.E.S.O.L.

With over 20 years of combined experience in education, Alison and Francesca are dedicated to transforming the learning experience for bilingual and multilingual learners around the world.

Their journey began as teachers, but when they moved out of classroom teaching in 2008, they opened their own educational company, helping children with literacy challenges accelerate their reading and writing skills.

This work led them to uncover a critical issue: bilingual (ELL) children were often sent to psychologists due to language barriers rather than receiving the targeted support they needed. These children were sometimes tested under assumptions that they were native English speakers, leading to false-positives on psychological tests.

Determined to address this gap, Alison and Francesca developed a mission to help educators get the expertise they needed to support their bilingual and multilingual learners. Their approach is grounded in practical, evidence-based strategies designed to empower teachers.
